Like the dewberries, the rain is a huge factor in how big and juicy the blackberries grow, so the canes in lower areas produce a bit better as they stay wetter.
We’ve been watching the blackberries come in for a few weeks now and they are finally starting to turn red.
It’s important to leave some berries on the vine to ensure a harvest next year while sharing the fruit with the animals and with others that may pass through.
